Borussia Dortmund close in on Konstantinos Karetsas from Genk

Borussia Dortmund are intensifying talks to sign 18‑year‑old Greek international Konstantinos Karetsas, currently with KRC Genk. The German club view the attacking midfielder as a preferred replacement for Julian Brandt, who will leave on a free transfer. Genk have set a valuation of €35‑40 million and have rebuffed several offers around €30‑35 million, but Dortmund’s sporting director Ole Book remains determined to meet the demand. Recent reports indicate a principle agreement on personal terms with the player, while negotiations on the transfer fee continue. Karetsas, who has impressed with three goals, 18 assists in 49 appearances for Genk and ten caps for Greece, is also being tracked by clubs such as AC Milan and Inter Milan. The move would see him sign a five‑year contract and could provide Dortmund with a key creative option for the upcoming season.
