Konstantinos Karetsas joins Borussia Dortmund in €30‑41 million deal

Greek international attacking midfielder Konstantinos Karetsas has completed a transfer from Belgian club KRC Genk to German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. The agreement includes a five‑year contract running to 2031. Reported fees vary, with the base amount cited between €30 million and €33 million and total potential compensation – including bonuses and add‑ons – reaching up to €41 million. The deal contains a 10 percent sell‑on clause for Genk and is described as the highest fee ever received by the Belgian club. Technical director Ole Book travelled to Belgium to finalise negotiations, and Karetsas has undergone a medical examination in Dortmund ahead of signing. The transfer is noted as a record sale for Genk and a major investment by Dortmund in a 18‑year‑old talent who has already earned ten caps for Greece.
