Borussia Dortmund signs Giannis Konstantelias from PAOK

Borussia Dortmund has reached an agreement to sign 23-year-old Greek playmaker Giannis Konstantelias from PAOK. The transfer is a record-breaking deal for PAOK, valued at a fixed €26 million, with potential bonuses bringing the total to €32 million. The contract for Konstantelias extends until the summer of 2031, with annual wages estimated between €3 million and €4 million including incentives.

Dortmund's sporting director, Lars Ricken, stated that the club has been monitoring the player for some time. The move follows a period of unsuccessful pursuit of other targets, such as Said El Mala.

The transfer has sparked significant unrest among PAOK supporters. Hundreds of fans protested at Toumba Stadium, demanding that owner Ivan Savvidis cancel the deal. Protesters expressed frustration over the loss of a key creative player and cited Dortmund's relationship with PAOK's rivals as a point of contention.
