Borussia Dortmund intensifies bid for Konstantinos Karetsas

Borussia Dortmund is negotiating with Belgian club KRC Genk to sign 18‑year‑old Greek international midfielder Konstantinos Karetsas. Genk has set a price tag of €35‑40 million, while Dortmund has offered roughly €30 million plus performance bonuses and a sell‑on clause. Dortmund officials, including sporting director Ole Book, are scheduled to travel to Belgium early next week for face‑to‑face talks to try to close the deal within days.

Karetsas, who has 49 appearances for Genk last season with three goals and 14 assists, is contractually tied to the Belgian side until June 2029 and is valued at about €35 million on the market. Galatasaray has also placed the player on its transfer watchlist but has not yet submitted a formal offer. Dortmund’s aim is to complete the transfer within the coming week, despite a pre‑season camp in Japan that delayed earlier negotiations.
