Bosch reports declining profitability amid automotive industry stagnation
Bosch Group, a major global automotive supplier, reported a decline in profitability for the first half of 2026. The company's operating profit margin fell to 4.6 percent, down from 5.1 percent during the same period the previous year.
This downturn is attributed to stagnation in automobile production and a 270 million euro write-down of production plants, driven by slower-than-expected global adoption of electric vehicles. Despite these challenges, Bosch has maintained its full-year forecasts but warned of continued uncertainty in the economic environment for the second half of the year.
To combat these pressures, the group intends to focus on reducing costs and complexity while increasing investments in new technologies to improve competitiveness.
