Bosch reports revenue growth driven by HVAC acquisitions

Bosch reported a 3.6% increase in revenue for the first half of 2026, reaching 46.4 billion euros compared to 44.8 billion euros in the same period of 2025. This growth was primarily driven by the integration of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning businesses acquired from Johnson Controls and Hitachi, which contributed approximately 2 billion euros to the total revenue.

Despite the revenue increase, operating profit (EBIT) saw a slight decline from 2.3 billion euros to 2.2 billion euros, resulting in an operating margin of 4.6%. The company's mobility sector, its largest business unit, faced challenges with revenue decreasing by 0.5% to 27.8 billion euros due to stagnant global vehicle production and a slower-than-expected expansion in the electric vehicle market. Bosch recorded a 270 million euro write-down, largely related to underutilized manufacturing equipment for electric vehicle components.

CFO Markus Forschner stated that the company will continue structural transformations and cost-reduction initiatives. Bosch maintains its full-year 2026 sales growth projection of between 2% and 5%, with an expected operating margin of 4% to 6%, even as it navigates geopolitical uncertainties and automotive industry shifts.
