Bosnia and Croatia Host Major Wine Festivals Showcasing Local Varietals

The BLAŽ Enology association organized a wine‑gastro performance in Međugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on 27 August 2026. The event featured tastings of Herzegovinian wines and two first‑level sommelier courses, with instructor Dražan Dennis Šunjić, WSET. Over the past decade the association has trained nearly 400 participants, many of whom now promote the region’s wine culture.

In Blato, Croatia, the traditional Vinska noć (Wine Night) gathered hundreds of visitors and more than 50 producers from the islands of Korčula, Lastovo and Pelješac. Attendees sampled autochthonous varieties such as pošip, grk, cetinka and plavac mali. Notable guests included sommelier Mate Jakopović and Minister of Tourism Branko Bačić, who joined the celebrations and discussions about viticulture and terroir.
