The Central Election Commission (CIK) of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued numerous fines totaling 61,000 KM to various political parties and candidates for violating the Election Law. These violations primarily involve premature campaigning and the dissemination of false information ahead of the general elections scheduled for October 4, 2026.

Among the most significant penalties, the SNSD party was fined 12,500 KM. This included 7,500 KM for candidates presenting infrastructure projects as party successes and 5,000 KM following social media posts by Milorad Dodik that questioned the integrity of new election technologies. Other penalized entities include the Draško Stanivuković - Pokret Sigurna Srpska coalition, the NES BiH, PDA, and Naprijed! coalition, as well as the DNS party.

The CIK has also finalized the central voter list, which includes 3,408,517 registered voters. To improve election integrity and speed up results, new technologies such as biometric identification and optical scanners will be introduced for the first time. While some political figures, including HDZ 1990 President Ilija Cvitanović, expressed concerns that these technologies could impact election results, CIK member Suad Arnautović maintained that the commission is fully prepared and that there are no indications the October 4 date will be postponed.
