Bosnia and Herzegovina commemorates war victims in Drvar and Livno

On 27 July 2026 the town of Drvar held a "Day of Prayer for Witnesses of Faith and Victims of the Banjolučka Bishopric". The ceremony marked the 85th anniversary of the killing of parish priest Waldemar Maximilian Nestor and local Catholics by Chetnik units in 1941, and included a procession, a Mass led by Bishop Željko Majić, and the laying of wreaths at a memorial cross.

On 21 July, the association "21 July" organized a remembrance day in Livno for Bosniak victims of the 1993 war‑time camps. Representatives of survivor groups, religious communities and civil organisations visited a former commander's house and sites of mass killings, laid flowers, recited prayers and held a round‑table discussion stressing the need to preserve the truth about the atrocities and uphold the victims' dignity.
