Bosnia and Herzegovina election campaigns criticized for uncreative messaging
Experts and journalists have criticized the lack of innovation in pre-election campaign materials in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Critics note that political posters frequently rely on repetitive slogans, familiar faces, and outdated visual formats that fail to engage voters effectively in the digital age.
Journalist Amir Sužanj observed that while candidates use photoshopped images to appear fresh, their messages remain unchanged, often promising foreign investment without detailing specific economic or social programs. Communication expert Mladen Bubonjić added that political messaging often targets national identity and fear to secure votes, despite parties lacking consistent ideological or programmatic foundations.
Public relations advisor Una Bejtović highlighted the poor quality of visual production, noting that posters are often cluttered with too much text and utilize outdated design concepts. She suggested that current campaign materials fail to reach the emotional or substantive dimensions necessary for effective political communication.
