Bosnia and Herzegovina election officials praise new voting technology
Officials from the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CIK BiH) have characterized the recent implementation of new election technologies as a successful and historic advancement for the country's democratic processes.
Suad Arnautović, a member of the CIK BiH, noted that while the new systems passed their tests, the commission faced significant disinformation campaigns aimed at discrediting the technology and the institution's credibility. He suggested future improvements could include installing cameras at polling stations.
Željko Bakalar, also a member of the CIK BiH, described the technological shift as a historical revolution in the electoral process. He reported that approximately two percent of the results remain unprocessed or untransferred. While the legal deadline for determining results is 20 days after the election, the final confirmation can take up to 30 days, or 45 days in complex cases involving appeals.
