Bosnia and Herzegovina launches LEGO-inspired heritage initiative

The Federal Ministry of Education and Science of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in partnership with the MUNJA Social Innovation Incubator and the STAR.study platform, has launched the ‘Bosnia and Herzegovina in Bricks’ initiative. The project aims to represent the country’s architectural and cultural heritage through models inspired by the LEGO Architecture concept.

The initiative will be officially presented on September 3, 2026, at the garden of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo. During the launch, organizers will issue a public call for young designers and innovators to submit original ideas for interpreting landmarks, such as the Sarajevo City Hall or the Stari Most in Mostar, as display models.

Selected participants will receive mentorship and technical support, with total prizes valued at 8,000 KM. The long-term goal is to develop a winning concept to the level where it can be submitted through official LEGO procedures and platforms, providing an opportunity for the international promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s heritage through modern design.
