Bosnia and Herzegovina Ministry proposes 700,000 KM for social protection

The Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Policy in Bosnia and Herzegovina has proposed a distribution of 700,000 KM to co-finance 52 social protection programs and projects. The funding is intended to support public kitchens, professional counseling, family support, social entrepreneurship, and community reintegration for individuals leaving institutional care.

Approximately 289,547 KM is earmarked for eight public kitchen projects, including initiatives such as ‘Obrok za sve’ by the Pomozi.ba Association and ‘Obrok na kućni prag’ by the Help Others organization. These funds aim to improve food quality, preparation, and delivery in cities including Sarajevo, Mostar, Zenica, and Travnik.

An additional 150,453 KM is proposed for 25 projects focused on professional support and counseling. This includes family therapy, support for biological and foster families, violence prevention, and services for children with developmental disabilities and persons with disabilities. Furthermore, 90,000 KM is allocated for social entrepreneurship and social innovation, with another 90,000 KM dedicated to supporting community inclusion for those transitioning out of institutional care.
