Bosnia and Herzegovina municipalities expand preschool capacity
Several municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina have completed significant expansions to their preschool infrastructure. In Jezero, the municipality has opened its first kindergarten, providing organized preschool education and training for local children for the first time. Mayor Snežana Ružičić noted that the project required years of effort and secured government funding to ensure long-term sustainability, including the financing of staff salaries through the Republic of Srpska government.
In Gornji Vakuf-Uskoplje, the 'Zvončić' kindergarten has completed a capacity expansion project valued at approximately 397,799 KM. The works, carried out by local firm 'RN' d.o.o., included the renovation of existing facilities and the construction of new spaces equipped with modern didactic tools. A key outcome of this investment is the elimination of the local kindergarten waiting list, allowing children who previously lacked available spots to enroll.
