Bosnia and Herzegovina officials discuss Ljubuški development and commemorate Turkish democracy day
President of the House of Peoples Dragan Čović and parliamentary representative Darijana Filipović visited the city of Ljubuški, where they met mayor Vedran Markotić to review development priorities for the city and the West Herzegovina Canton. The officials highlighted the need for coordinated action across government levels and toured the construction of a new police training centre, noting its expected boost to institutional capacity and security.
Presidency chairman Denis Bećirović visited the Turkish Embassy to mark the Day of Democracy and National Unity, recalling the July 2016 attempted coup in Turkey. He praised the Turkish citizens’ “heroic resistance… that saved democracy,” and affirmed Bosnia and Herzegovina’s continued support for Turkey’s democratic institutions and regional stability.
