Bosnia and Herzegovina political leaders clash over coalition and reforms

Political tensions are rising in Bosnia and Herzegovina as the general elections approach. Vojin Mijatović, Vice President of the SDP, has explicitly rejected the possibility of forming a coalition with the SDA. Mijatović criticized Bakir Izetbegović for his previous rhetoric toward the SDP and stated that while the SDA might be an acceptable partner in theory, it would be impossible to work with current leadership figures like Izetbegović and Haris Zahiragić.

Separately, SDA President Bakir Izetbegović criticized the current government, claiming that reforms have stalled and institutions have weakened. He reported that the country has lost one billion KM from the Growth Plan and noted that corruption has halted major infrastructure projects, such as the construction of the Corridor 5c highway. Izetbegović also highlighted concerns regarding the state budget, the depletion of resources in the armed forces and public broadcasting, and the lack of progress on the NATO path.
