Republika Srpska elections: SNSD maintains lead as EU warns of reform risks

Preliminary election results from the Central Election Commission of BiH indicate that the SNSD party maintains a significant lead in the elections for the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, securing 39.14 percent of the vote. The Sigurna Srpska movement follows in second place with 14.09 percent, while the SDS – Volja naroda coalition holds 12.12 percent. As of the latest update, 98.17 percent of polling stations have processed their results.

In a separate development, the European Commission has warned that Bosnia and Herzegovina risks losing 373.9 million euros from the Western Balkans Growth Plan if it fails to implement critical reforms. Specifically, the commission highlighted the need for the adoption of the Law on the Courts of BiH and the Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council to ensure judicial independence.

In Montenegro, Interior Minister Danilo Šaranović reported that 13,216 voters remain on the electoral roll despite not having updated their identity cards for nearly 20 years. The Ministry of Interior is preparing legislative changes to address voter identification and registry accuracy.
