Border crossings see heavy traffic between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia
Heavy traffic and long queues are being reported at several border crossings between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia due to the ongoing summer holiday season. Significant delays are noted at crossings such as Izačić, Velika Kladuša, Gradina, and Orašje on the exit from Bosnia and Herzegovina. At several points, such as Gradina, queues are forming in both directions.
In addition to border congestion, various road closures and restrictions are in effect across Bosnia and Herzegovina. Traffic is suspended on the Jajce–Crna Rijeka road due to works, and the Golubinja–Nemila section of the highway is closed for the construction of the Nemila–Vranduk sub-section. On the A-1 highway, a 6 km stretch between Lašva and Kakanj is closed for road repairs, with traffic diverted to the opposite side of the motorway.
Furthermore, the Tuzla–Dokanj–Šibošnica regional road is closed today until 18:00 for the “Tuzla 2026” hill race. Drivers are advised to exercise caution due to high temperatures and potential landslides in certain areas, and to plan trips during cooler parts of the day.
