Bosnia and Herzegovina to invest 12 million euros in Roma housing
The Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sevlid Hurtić, has announced a 12 million euro program aimed at improving the housing conditions and living standards of the Roma population.
Financed by the European Union through IPA funds and implemented in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the initiative will target approximately 15 local communities across the country. The project focuses on providing safer homes and better infrastructure to ensure more dignified living conditions for Roma families.
Representatives from the UNDP, including Resident Representative Renaud Meyer, emphasized the importance of collaboration between domestic institutions, the EU, and the UN to achieve sustainable results. The signing of the contract is expected to take place in early September, allowing field activities to begin shortly thereafter.
