Bosnia and Herzegovina reduces customs duties on 74 goods
The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has adopted a decision to temporarily suspend or reduce customs duties on 74 types of goods to support the domestic economy. This measure, proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, will be applicable from January 1, 2027, until December 31, 2027.
The decision targets raw materials and components that domestic manufacturers cannot obtain locally in sufficient quantities or quality. Affected sectors include textiles, leather, footwear, chemical, metal, electrical, food, graphic, automotive, and hygiene product industries. The Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina and various regional chambers supported the move to enhance competitiveness and prevent job losses.
Separately, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has expanded its Solidarity Fund drug list. New therapies, including pembrolizumab and atezolizumab for severe malignant diseases, and sodium oxybate for narcolepsy, have been added to provide patients with more advanced treatment options.
