Traffic disruptions and security warnings in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro
Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro are experiencing significant traffic disruptions due to extensive roadworks and infrastructure projects. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, major delays and closures are reported on the A-1 highway (Kakanj-Lašva and Nemila-Vranduk sections), as well as on several regional and main roads including routes near Jajce, Bugojno, and Mostar. Border crossings, particularly Izačić, are seeing long queues, partly attributed to the implementation of the EU's new Entry/Exit System (EES).
In Montenegro, the reconstruction of the Đurđevića Tara bridge on the M-6 highway has caused a total suspension of road and pedestrian traffic until late October. Other regional roads in areas like Bar, Čevo, and Petnjica are also subject to scheduled closures and alternating traffic flow. Drivers are advised to avoid long trips during peak heat and to follow temporary signage.
Separately, Montenegro's National Security Agency (ANB) has issued warnings regarding potential intensified hybrid threats aimed at destabilizing the state, undermining trust in institutions, and slowing European integration. These threats include cyber operations, disinformation campaigns using AI, and suspicious changes in media ownership structures.
