Bosnia commemorates 33rd anniversary of 1993 Lašva valley humanitarian convoy attack

On 15 June 1993, at the Busovačke staje site in the Lašva valley, forces of the then Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina ambushed a humanitarian convoy intended for local residents. The assault killed 18 members of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) and civilians, and more than 20 people were wounded, some seriously.

Thirty‑three years later, on 15 June 2026, families of the victims, Croatian veterans, representatives of war‑time associations and citizens gathered for a memorial ceremony. The program began at 10:30 a.m. with the laying of wreaths and lighting of candles at a monument, followed by a solemn mass at 11:00 a.m. to honor those who died in the tragedy.
