Bosnia Defence Minister Helez says Armed Forces back Srebrenica 31st‑anniversary commemoration

Bosnia and Herzegovina's Defence Minister Zukan Helez announced that the country's Armed Forces are providing full support for the 31st anniversary of the July 1995 Srebrenica genocide. He noted that about 300 soldiers, along with helicopter and medical assistance, are engaged in duties ranging from securing accommodation and transport for the March of Peace participants, to military police, EOD, medical teams, air support and religious services by military imams.

Helez stressed the event's importance as a reminder of the massacre, condemned genocide denial and hypocrisy, and urged Bosnia to strengthen its defence capabilities to protect its territory and citizens. He linked the memory of Srebrenica to current conflicts, saying, "If we have forgotten, we only need to look at what is happening in Gaza today."
