Bosnia faces drought crisis as Serbia expects first snowfall
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, climatologist Bakir Krajinović has called for the declaration of a state of natural disaster. He warned that extreme drought and a lack of autumn rainfall have exhausted groundwater reserves, creating a hydrological crisis that cannot be resolved by isolated rain showers. The Federal Hydrometeorological Institute (FHMZ) has advised citizens to use drinking water supplies with maximum efficiency.
In Serbia, meteorologists report a shift in weather patterns. The Republic Hydrometeorological Institute (RHMZ) predicts a warm autumn with above-average precipitation. However, immediate cooling is expected, with the first snowflakes forecasted for the Kopaonik and Golija mountain regions. While October is expected to remain relatively warm, temperatures are projected to fluctuate between summer-like days and freezing conditions.
