Bosnia-Herzegovina Deputy Foreign Minister Josip Brkić attends NATO reform review in Brussels

Josip Brkić, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s deputy foreign minister and chair of the country's NATO Cooperation Commission, took part in a NATO Committee meeting of deputy permanent representatives on 2 August in Brussels. The session, chaired by Kevin Hamilton, NATO’s deputy assistant secretary general for partnerships, focused on evaluating Bosnia‑Herzegovina’s Reform Programme for 2023‑2025 and preparing the first Individualised Tailored Partnership Programme (ITPP) slated for adoption in October 2025 for the 2025‑2028 period.

Brkić stressed the nation’s steady progress since joining NATO’s Partnership for Peace in 2006, citing six reform programmes already delivered and a seventh under preparation. He highlighted the Commission’s role in coordinating all relevant institutions despite a complex political environment, and thanked NATO members for their continued support to Bosnia‑Herzegovina’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and regional stability, underscoring the partnership’s importance for the security of the Western Balkans and Europe.
