Bosnia marks 34th anniversary of Vogošća massacre with mass burial ceremony

On the 34th anniversary of the 1992 killing of 30 Bosniak civilians in Vogošća, Bosnia and Herzegovina held a commemorative ceremony. A funeral prayer (dženaza) was performed for Đemi Hadžić, who was murdered in 1992, and the remains of 15 unidentified victims were interred at the local cemetery.

The service was led by Sarajevo mufti Prof. Dr. Nedžad Grabus, who emphasized the importance of preserving faith and identity. Officials, including Alija Kožljak from the Presidency, Vogošća municipal mayor Migdad Hasanović, and representatives of the families of the missing, attended. The event also featured floral tributes at the Grab and Central memorials. The massacre, carried out by the Army of Republika Srpska in May 1992, had its victims exhumed in 1996, and the ceremony underlined the ongoing need to remember and seek justice for the victims.
