Bosniak Youth Summit opens in Istanbul
The International Bosniak Youth Summit opened in the Bayrampaşa district of Istanbul, organized by the Turkey-Bosnia-Sandžak Association. The event is supported by Bosniak councils from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia, and other regional countries.
Suljo Mustafić, President of the Bosniak Council in Montenegro and Chair of the Parent Society of Bosniak Councils, addressed the summit, emphasizing that young people are the cornerstone of the nation's social, cultural, and scientific future. He stated, "Bosniaks are a European and Balkan people. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Sandžak, and throughout the region, they are autochthonous and always committed to stability, democracy, cooperation, and prosperity in our multi-ethnic societies."
Mustafić also noted that while the memory of past atrocities, such as the Srebrenica genocide, serves as a vital part of their culture of remembrance, it must also drive the development of future strategies. The summit brings together youth from over twenty countries to exchange ideas and foster cooperation in preserving cultural and linguistic identity.
