Botic van de Zandschulp wins US Open marathon against Arthur Gea

Botic van de Zandschulp secured a dramatic comeback victory against Arthur Gea at the US Open, advancing to the quarterfinals after a marathon five-hour and thirteen-minute match. The Dutch player overcame a two-set deficit, winning 3-6, 6-7(0), 7-6(7), 7-6(3), 6-4.

Gea, a French lucky loser, held multiple opportunities to close out the match, including a match point in the third set and a service game in the fourth set while leading 5-4. Van de Zandschulp's victory marks the fourth-longest men's singles match in US Open history since 1991.

Following this win, van de Zandschulp is scheduled to face Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals. Zverev advanced to the same stage after a straight-sets victory over Luciano Darderi.
