Bottomline launches Global Pay Connect to bridge banking and blockchain

Bottomline has launched Global Pay Connect, a new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform designed to bridge traditional financial infrastructure with blockchain-based payment networks. The platform aims to help financial institutions adopt real-time payments, digital assets, and tokenized deposits without replacing their existing systems.

Through a partnership with Chainlink, the service utilizes Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE). This integration allows banks to connect to multiple blockchain networks via a single, network-agnostic model, facilitating the movement of data and value across different chains.

The platform maintains compatibility with established messaging standards, such as ISO 20022, and provides connectivity across major global and domestic networks including Swift, SEPA, CHIPS, and Bacs. Additionally, Global Pay Connect offers payment data enrichment, real-time visibility into activity, and AI-enabled insights to assist institutions in modernizing outdated infrastructure.
