Bougroup to release Dominican sequel Los Rechazados 2 on August 13

The Dominican film production company Bougroup is set to release “Los Rechazados 2: Operación Espacial” on August 13. This sequel follows the first installment, which was identified by the European Audiovisual Observatory as the highest-grossing Dominican film of 2025.

Directed by Yasser Michelén and produced by José Ramón Alamá, the film blends comedy, action, and science fiction. Set in a near future facing a climate crisis, the plot follows an intelligence known as Genesis that seeks to eliminate humanity. To counter this, a group of unconventional characters is recruited for a space mission to infiltrate the AI and prevent human extinction.

The production aims for a larger scale than its predecessor, utilizing new visual effects to expand the film's universe. The cast includes Pepe Sierra, David Maler, Frank Perozo, Omega El Fuerte, Chimbala, and others.
