Boyko Borisov Highlights GERB Mayors and Prospective Presidential Candidates in Primorsko

At the GER‑B youth academy “New Minds” in the Black Sea town of Primorsko, party leader Boyko Borisov praised Dimitar Nikolov, mayor of Burgas, as the party’s most successful mayor and gathered a group of GERB mayors from the Burgas region. The forum, attended by local officials and young party activists, was used to showcase the party’s effort to train new cadres for municipal, parliamentary and executive roles.

Borisov also signaled that several participants could become presidential candidates, stating, “There are candidates, including from this crowd, who will make it to the second round.” He linked the discussion to the upcoming presidential election, the adoption of the euro in 2026, and a tougher economic period ahead, urging responsible party action. Former energy minister Zhecho Stankov and other senior figures served as lecturers, emphasizing experience sharing on municipal management, infrastructure projects and investment attraction.
