BPJS Kesehatan expands digital services and premium payment guidelines

BPJS Kesehatan is enhancing its National Health Insurance (JKN) services through digital integration to improve administrative efficiency and access for participants. Digital tools such as the Mobile JKN application allow users to manage online queues, reducing the need to arrive early at medical facilities. Other available digital channels include the WhatsApp PANDAWA service, BPJS Online, and mobile BPJS units.

To maintain access to these medical benefits, participants must ensure their insurance premiums are paid regularly. Failure to pay premiums results in a temporary suspension of coverage starting on the first day of the following month. While membership is not permanently lost, participants must settle arrears—up to a maximum of 24 months—along with the current month's premium to reactivate their status. For participants with arrears lasting between four and 24 months, the REHAB program allows for installment payments via the Mobile JKN application.
