BPJS Kesehatan outlines membership updates and premium rates

BPJS Kesehatan membership status must be updated when a participant passes away to ensure data accuracy and prevent unnecessary billing for independent participants (PBPU). Families can deactivate membership through online administrative services, including a WhatsApp service at 08118165165. Required documents for verification include a death certificate and the deceased participant's National Identity Number (NIK).

Regarding contribution rates, BPJS Kesehatan premiums remain unchanged as of August 2026, following Presidential Regulations No. 59 of 2024 and No. 63 of 2022. Contribution schemes vary by category: the government pays for subsidy recipients (PBI), while wage earners (PPU) pay 5% of their monthly salary (4% by employer, 1% by employee). For non-wage earners (PBPU), Class III premiums are set at Rp 42,000 per person per month.
