BPJS Kesehatan promotes healthy living through Jakarta Fun Walk

BPJS Kesehatan organized a 3K Fun Walk in Jakarta to promote healthy living and increase public understanding of the National Health Insurance (JKN) program. The event, held at the Kuningan Car Free Day area, aimed to emphasize preventive measures and physical activity to reduce future disease risks.

Akmal Budi Yulianto, Director of Membership at BPJS Kesehatan, stated that the initiative is part of a promotional and preventive effort to encourage early healthy habits, including diet and daily activity. The organization seeks to collaborate with various stakeholders, including local government, businesses, and youth groups, to strengthen the JKN program.

On a broader scale, cardiovascular diseases remain a leading cause of death globally, accounting for approximately 32 percent of all deaths in 2022 according to the World Health Organization. In Indonesia, the Ministry of Health reported that financing for cardiovascular diseases, including heart disease and stroke, reached Rp22.8 trillion in 2023 under the National Health Insurance program. Experts recommend regular physical activity, such as 150 minutes of moderate intensity per week, and a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and proteins to mitigate these risks.
