Brabus Ultima 55 luxury catamaran unveiled with 1,450 hp and foiling technology

Sunreef Yachts and German tuner Brabus have launched the Brabus Ultima 55, a 55‑foot (17 m) high‑performance luxury catamaran. The vessel is powered by twin six‑cylinder engines delivering a combined 1,450 horsepower, enabling speeds over 40 knots (≈74 km/h). An advanced hydrofoil system lifts the hulls, reducing drag and providing a smooth, virtually heel‑free ride.

The catamaran features extensive carbon‑fiber exterior work, illuminated Brabus insignia and two colour options – Graphite Black or Phantom Grey. Interior appointments include Brabus Masterpiece leather, Moonstone leather, Alcantara upholstery and a Bowers & Wilkins audio system. Fold‑down side platforms extend the beam from 18.4 ft to 24.9 ft, creating a beach‑club‑style aft deck with an electric BBQ, wet bar and convertible carbon‑fibre dining table. Accommodation layouts cater to up to six guests, with options for owner and guest suites.

The collaboration marks Brabus’s first foray into the marine market. Francis Lapp, founder and CEO of Sunreef Yachts, and Constantin Buschmann, CEO of Brabus, highlighted the blend of automotive performance and maritime luxury. The catamaran is priced around $3.7 million (€3.2 million) and was developed at Sunreef’s UAE production facility in Ras Khaimah.
