Bracciano-Martignano Park implements new hunting weapon regulations

The 2026/2027 hunting season has officially commenced in the Lazio region, running from September 20, 2026, until January 31, 2027.

Within the Bracciano-Martignano Regional Natural Park, hunting is strictly prohibited. Under national framework law L. 394/91, the introduction of weapons, explosives, or any means of capture by private individuals is forbidden unless specifically authorized.

The park management has established new regulations regarding the transport of weapons and capture tools. To avoid criminal or administrative sanctions, hunters and sports shooters must obtain specific authorizations. Residents may apply for authorization for a fee of 10 euros, while non-residents are charged 20 euros. The transport of sporting weapons is only permitted if authorized by the regional entity and strictly for necessary transfers related to training or competitions in permitted sites.
