Brad Binder signs with BMW for 2027 World Superbike alongside Miguel Oliveira

BMW announced that South African rider Brad Binder will join its factory World Superbike team for the 2027 season, riding the BMW M 1000 RR. Binder, who is currently without a MotoGP seat, will team up with Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira, who has extended his contract with the German manufacturer.

Binder’s signing replaces Italian rider Danilo Petrucci, whose first year with BMW was hampered by a serious crash and will end after the current season. The pairing reunites the duo who previously rode together for KTM in MotoGP during 2021‑2022, and BMW expects the lineup to boost its Superbike campaign.

The move highlights BMW’s intent to strengthen its presence in the production‑based series by adding a proven Grand Prix talent alongside an established Superbike competitor.
