Itaú launches Pedra Preta VIP lounge at Guarulhos Airport

Itaú opened the new Pedra Preta VIP lounge in Terminal 3 of São Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport on 29 May. The 1,400‑square‑metre space can accommodate about 166 passengers and operates 24 hours a day with premium dining, a bar, a curated wine list and work‑friendly areas. Access is limited to high‑income customers – holders of the Itaú Personnalité The One card, the Mastercard World Legend card, and Itaú Private clients – and is granted via a QR code generated in the bank’s app. Early on the launch day, several eligible clients reported that the QR‑code option was not yet visible, prompting the bank to assure users that the digital entry method would be enabled later that day.

The lounge debut comes amid a broader race among Brazilian banks and cooperatives to attract ultra‑wealthy customers. Sisprime, a financial cooperative, confirmed it will issue the new Mastercard World Legend card, the highest‑tier product in the brand’s hierarchy, joining other issuers such as Banco do Brasil, Itaú and BTG Pactual. The card promises exclusive travel, dining and concierge experiences, reinforcing the competition for premium‑segment clientele that also drives investments in private lounges like Pedra Preta.
