Brandenburg foal sells for record 75,000 euros
A four-month-old Westphalian foal named J-Nimon K, known for its striking tiger-patterned coat, has been sold for a record price of 75,000 euros. The foal, bred by Steffen Krehl in Lentzke, Brandenburg, was auctioned at Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna.
The foal’s unique appearance, which resembles a zebra due to its brown-and-white spotted coloring, is attributed to the leopard gene. This rare trait, combined with the promising athletic lineage of its parents, drove the bidding from an initial 5,000 euros to the final record amount. The buyer is reported to be from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
J-Nimon K will remain with its mother, Kasamona, in Brandenburg until it reaches at least six months of age before any potential relocation to Dubai.
