Brandenburg Train Rescue Over 40°C Heat Aided by Local Farmers

A regional train traveling to Stralsund halted on a track in Gransee, Brandenburg, after a technical failure left about 300 passengers stranded on a sweltering day with temperatures exceeding 40 °C and no onboard air‑conditioning. Emergency services, including police, fire crews and ambulances, responded, but locating the exact position proved difficult due to the remote setting.

Local farmer Ole Peter, whose fields border the railway, arrived with water bottles and cooling packs, providing immediate relief to passengers. Together with his family, he delivered roughly 50 liters of drinking water and ice packs, helping to prevent heat‑related injuries. The coordinated effort of the farmers, residents, and emergency teams enabled the train to be restarted and passengers to continue their journey safely.
