Brandon Flowers releases solo country album 'Thrasher
Brandon Flowers, frontman of The Killers, has released 'Thrasher', his first solo album in over a decade. The project marks a significant stylistic shift toward country and Americana, inspired by the music Flowers heard during his childhood in Nephi, Utah.
Recorded at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A, the album features collaborations with veteran musicians, including guitarist David Rawlings, pedal steel player Bruce Bouton, and harmonica legend Charlie McCoy. The tracks explore themes of family, rural upbringing, and personal history, with songs such as 'One Of Us' and 'Miss America' touching on loss and the opioid crisis.
While the album draws on traditional country elements like honky-tonk and ballads, it also incorporates mariachi horns and expansive arrangements. Flowers described the move as a way to find a musical home for the personal stories he carries.
