Livestock markets see high-value sales in Argentina and Paraguay

Livestock markets in Argentina and Paraguay are showing significant activity through high-value auctions and strategic breeding discussions. In Argentina, a record-breaking sale occurred at the Villa Bordeu show in Bahía Blanca, where an Angus bull from the ‘23 de Noviembre’ ranch sold for 42 million pesos.

Other regional commercial activities include a Borsalino Hermanos auction in Mercedes, which saw steady demand for cows and replacement stock, and the announcement of the upcoming NEA Meat Congress, aimed at addressing beef production challenges and innovation in Northeast Argentina.

In Paraguay, the Brangus Spring National exhibition concluded with a sale of breeders and high-selection juniors. Despite some supply reductions due to weather conditions, the event highlighted the importance of genetic investment. Miguel Reinau, former president of the Brangus Breeders Association of Paraguay, emphasized that producers must focus on nutrition, health, and genetics to stabilize national cattle stocks and improve reproductive efficiency.
