Braço do Norte and Paranavaí Expand Municipal Health Services in Brazil
The municipal health department of Braço do Norte reported more than 449,000 services—including 86,000 medical consultations, 14,000 specialized visits, 27,000 physiotherapy sessions, 110,000 laboratory exams and hundreds of imaging procedures—delivered in the first half of 2026. Mayor Lauro Boeing Junior highlighted the figures as evidence of improved access and quality, while Health Secretary Sérgio Arent emphasized the daily impact on residents.
In Paranavaí, the mobile "Carreta da Saúde da Mulher" began operations on 7 August, providing up to 80 gynecological consultations per day. The unit serves women from 28 surrounding municipalities, offering scheduled exams such as transvaginal ultrasound, mammography, pelvic ultrasound, breast biopsy and colposcopy. It will remain active until 4 September, operating weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on selected Saturdays.
