Brașov bear evades hunters, damages homes and Holy Trinity cemetery

A bear roaming the Schei district of Brașov has repeatedly entered residences and the Holy Trinity cemetery, causing damage to property and disturbing the peace of the burial ground. The city hall asked the Kronstadt Public Forest Service to capture the animal; a night‑time operation was carried out, but the hunters failed to shoot the bear, which escaped into dense vegetation. Deputy mayor Dan Ghiță confirmed the unsuccessful attempt and said a new capture effort will be organized. The parish priest also reported police patrols around the cemetery and urged visitors to exercise caution. This incident follows the shooting of four other bears in Brașov earlier this year.
