Romania reports multiple fatal road accidents and hospital incident
Romania has experienced a series of severe road accidents and incidents over a short period. In Brașov, a 50-year-old driver was detained after his vehicle struck three pedestrians on a sidewalk, killing two people, including a 25-year-old man and a German tourist. Investigators believe the driver may have suffered a medical emergency, noting he had a history of epilepsy but had reportedly ceased his treatment.
Other fatal collisions occurred across the country. In Brăila, a 55-year-old man performing a dangerous overtaking maneuver on DN2B collided head-on with another vehicle, resulting in the deaths of both the driver and his 54-year-old wife. In Mureș, a collision involving three cars and a military truck left three people dead, including a 3-year-old child. In Timiș, a 62-year-old driver died following a three-car collision on DN6.
Additional incidents include a vehicle being crushed between two trucks on the A0 near Ciorogârla, causing one death, and a collision on the A1 near Săliște involving a car and a truck trailer that sent four people to the hospital. In a separate incident in Brașov, a 46-year-old man was detained after behaving violently at a hospital, which included urinating on a wall and assaulting medical staff.
