Brașov police dismantle youth drug‑trafficking ring

Police from the Brașov Organized Crime Brigade, together with DIICOT prosecutors and special‑operations units, busted a network of five young men aged 20‑24 suspected of trafficking cannabis and cocaine in the Brașov area. The suspects used rented apartments as temporary “stores,” communicated with clients via online messaging apps, and employed face‑to‑face sales as well as “dead‑drop” deliveries near public venues. During six raids on July 8 – 9, officers seized multiple batches of the drugs, data‑storage devices and other evidence. A Brașov tribunal judge ordered preventive detention for 30 days for all five individuals.

The operation highlights a growing trend of small‑scale organized drug distribution using digital channels and short‑term premises in Romanian cities.
