Brașov proposes new public parking regulations and fee increases
The Brașov City Hall is preparing to implement new regulations for public paid parking, which include significant fee increases, particularly within the city's historic zone. Under the proposed rules, parking in Zone 0 would cost 5 lei per hour on weekdays and 10 lei per hour on weekends, up from the current flat rate of 3 lei per hour.
Following a public consultation period that received 65 proposals, the municipality has accepted 12 suggestions. These modifications include provisions for resident parking permits, allowing one subscription per house or apartment rather than the initially proposed maximum of two. The new regulations also clarify the documentation required for resident permits and adjust the maximum allowable distance between a residence and the parking space for which a permit can be requested.
The final regulation is expected to be submitted to the Brașov Local Council for approval during a meeting scheduled later this month.
