Romania advances major regional infrastructure and stadium projects
Romania is seeing a wave of significant local infrastructure and educational investments across various municipalities.
In the sports sector, several major stadium projects are advancing. Oradea has signed a contract with CON-A for a new stadium expected to be completed by 2029. Timișoara has also moved forward with the construction of the new Dan Păltinișanu stadium, a project valued at approximately 140 million euros with a 32,000-seat capacity. In Brașov, the Tineretului Stadium reconstruction has received government approval, and in Constanța, work on the Gheorghe Hagi stadium is scheduled to begin following archaeological surveys.
Educational and civic developments are also prominent. The Borhanci Educational Hub in Cluj-Napoca is nearing completion, featuring a nursery, high school, and an Olympic swimming pool with a total estimated value exceeding 100 million euros. Additionally, the Oradea Dual Education Campus has been completed using PNRR funding, establishing a specialized facility for technical training. In Costești, energy efficiency projects for public buildings are underway to reduce CO2 emissions and local expenditures.
