Brașov stadium project set for 30 million euro investment

The National Investment Company (CNI) has signed a contract for the construction of the new Tineretului Stadium in Brașov. The project is estimated to cost approximately 30 million euros excluding VAT, with financial contributions from the Brașov City Hall. The arena is expected to accommodate nearly 10,000 spectators, with a projected completion date between 2029 and 2030.

Concerns have been raised regarding the long-term financial sustainability of the facility. Estimates suggest that monthly maintenance, including utilities, hybrid grass upkeep, and staff salaries, could range between 35,000 and 60,000 euros. To avoid becoming a budgetary burden, experts suggest the arena must be designed as a multifunctional commercial space capable of hosting events beyond football, such as concerts, to generate sufficient revenue.
