Brasília International Airport auction set for December 17

The Brazilian federal government has scheduled an auction for December 17 to determine the new controller of Brasília International Airport. The concession, which runs until July 2037, includes approximately R$ 1.2 billion in planned investments for the terminal. Key projects include the construction of a new international terminal, a parking building, and new road access, alongside upgrades to security systems and passenger inspection equipment.

The auction also involves a restructuring of the current concession, facilitating the transfer of control from Inframérica to the winner. As part of this process, Infraero will exit the partnership and receive R$ 628.76 million for its 49% stake.

The winning bidder will also manage ten regional airports under the AmpliAR Program, including sites in Alto Paraíso de Goiás, Barreiras, Bonito, Cáceres, Dourados, Juína, Ponta Grossa, Tangará da Serra, Três Lagoas, and São Miguel do Araguaia. Initial investments for these regional terminals are estimated at R$ 857.8 million, bringing the total projected investment across all sites to over R$ 2 billion.
